Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

This is a basic spaghetti sauce recipe. If you prefer a meat sauce, add 2-3 lbs. of extra-lean minced beef at the same time that you are cooking the vegetables.
Basic spaghetti sauce recipe.
3 tbsp Oil (vegetable or olive)
1 large white diced onion
3 sticks of diced celery
1 diced red pepper
1 diced green pepper
3 crushed garlic cloves
2 cans (28oz.) diced tomatoes
2 cans (28oz.) water
1 can (48 oz) tomato juice
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
½ tsp allspice
½ container El-Ma-Mia spaghetti spices
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:
In a large skillet, add oil, diced onions, diced celery, diced peppers and crushed garlic and let it slightly brown.
Add the diced tomatoes, water, tomato juice and tomato paste and the spices.
Bring to a boil then bring the heat down to a mild simmer so the sauce won't stick to the pan.
Let it simmer gently for about 3-4 hours stirring occasionally.
